Questions about having a New Parrot

Hi Guys, I would like to ask some questions about buying a new Parrot (Cuckatoo Umbrella) from a shop in Wanchi (Parrot Dim), is that shop trustable???  Me and  my husband have been thinking of getting a parrot for more than a year, since is a very big responsibility, we have to consider if the parrot is allowed to import to another country or not, since we might go back to Canada in couple of years.  Finally we have found the one cuckatoo that catches our hearts.  If anyone who has a chance to walk by that shop, pls go take a look, and give me some suggestion.  This is our first time, we dont want anything goes wrong.  We don't care about her look at all, all that we care about is her health, since her upper mouth part sometimes goes behind her lower mouth part( which I think that makes her very unique ) miss her so much.  Ok, questions :
We do turn on the air conditioning 24/7, is it ok for the parrot? We do have a place for the cage though which is a little storage room under our bed which has a door to open around 4feet x 4feet, so we can install UV lights inside that area, do you guys think this is a good solution?
I need the best parrot Vet's name, any suggestion?
We are thinking of switching her food to Harrison, if anyone is feeding this brand, pls do let me know ^__^
what else should I consider, I have more than 15 years doggie experience, but I don't have any parrot experience.......it seems very complicated........
THANKS SO MUCH GUYS!!!!!!!!!!
last but not least, if any one walk pass by that shop, pls check out that little cutie, she is 4 months old according to that man inside the shop, eating dry food already (also according to that man inside the shop)..... any sign of illness?? thanks ^^

don't trust the man inside the shop, even i have bought two parrots from that shop.... one death and one sick with high white cells after checking from vet. (first parrot death after 1.5mths resons unknown coz i haven't got any blood test before and after) this shop must teach you complicated suggestions and small parrot must need to feed at least 1-2 times suppliments each day. Don't  trust him they can eat dry food already. So i really have bad impression about this shop.

If you might go back to Canada, please think cautiously before keeping a parrot.
Check this link http://www.inspection.gc.ca/english/anima/imp/petani/avie.shtml about the import permit for pet birds to Canada. Another friendly reminder, some locations in Canada might be too cold for Parrots.
If you are living in HK Island side, please drop by the following parrots shops and talk more with the owners. Make sure the bird have the birthday certificate and import record which are the essential information to support your application in future.

parrots are tropical animal, they can stand for hot weather, but not cold weather. u may need a heater in winter rather a 24/7 air condition in summer. for an adult parrot, it's ok to keep them in indoor without direct wind blow nor heater in winter. in summer, u no need to switch on the air-con all the day. if u need, pls  keep them away from the blowing hole of the air-con.
can u read chinese? if u can, there will be more responds to your questions.

Thank you very much everybody ^__^. yes I can read Chinese but I don't know how to type....Anyway, ya, I checked for all the import information a long time ago, it is possible to bring her with us to canada.  Since I work at home, so I have plenty of time to feed the baby and take care of her, or else I wont be thinking of getting that cutie too, hehehe...since i know the are very depending.  So if my storage room for the parrort can install heat and UV light, and we turn on the air con at the same time, is that possible?? or no air con at all??? what is their required temp??  Sigh.......right now we are just considering that parrot, that only one at parrot Dim....what should I do?? I even dream about her for the past 2 weeks..........

oh one more thing, they said she is 4 months old, and came from south africa, and with a birth cert.  we also talked a very nice customer there for about an hour, ( he is just a customer who walks by) he said he has seen the parrot that we want for at least 1 and a half month, there were many cuckatoo there when she first arrived, and she is now the only one who left behind at the shop, I am worried that what that shop will do to her, if they cant sell her...........

Comfortable temperature is in a range between 18C to 27C. (no direct or reflected air blow especially to chick) http://www.birdchannel.com/bird- ... ures-for-birds.aspx
You may try this Cantonese input or using Google translator to type Chinese

好多人都有狗同鸚鵡一齊養,相安無事。 不過見你頭像係三隻玩具狗(比較容易興奮),都提你一句啦....it only takes one tiny whinny mini little... bite......小心小心....

no no, what I mean is that is just a room for her cage, so that she can have a quiet and warm place to sleep, which I will open the door, during the day time, she has to come out , I just use the thermometer to check the temp, the temp is around 23 degree C, is gonna be the right temp ^^.
My doggies are not aggressive at all, hahahha, they have never started a fight in their lives and even play with hamsters.......but a slow introduction will be great I think. ^^ thanks Cherrios ^^

The acceptable temperature is in the range of 23 - 28, subject to the kind of parrot that you will own. For my two grey parrots, the room temperature is kept at 27.
