International trade in African parrot species between 1975 and 2003

1. Lovebirds have been a huge success and the avicultural community has done well to supply the demands of international trade;
2. The endangered Black-cheeked Lovebird has been bred very successfully in captivity;
3. All Poicephalus parrots have had more individuals removed from the wild than bred in captivity;
4. Ruppell's Parrot had massive range reduction in the 1980s and 90s when they were being caught in large numbers and driven into South Africa. These parrots did not register in international trade; and
5. The AFRICAN GREY PARROT is the worst of them all with deficit of over 1.1m parrots.

似乎灰鸚鵡主要是在野外捉,我還一直以後灰鸚鵡主要是人工繁殖,再長此下去,灰鸚鵡未會變成瀕危物種?之前在樹樹睇過一段片,個心有D唔開心,覺得鸚鵡應該在森林自由自在地飛,而不是被困在籠中hello,hello,hello...其實養鸚鵡係唔係唔值得鼓勵呢?

好外係野外數量高的鸚鵡都可以合法係非洲出口

I don't think it is true now. The birds we bought were very young as 3-6 months. They must be captive bred. The wild caught bird must be mature and cannot be easily rear in the cage.

之後就可以當captive 賣
