I just kept training and playing with my CAG, and slowly lured him to approach the cage door, then onto the perch then I attached outside the cage, and finally on my hand. Took me about 1 month to do that.
However I rushed it, and moved my hand too quickly the first time he stepped up, in fact, I shouldn't have moved at all, but instead should've lured him back to the cage so that he has time to get used to stepping up before going any further; he panicked and flew away from my hand. Now I have to start all over again, though he came around and willing to play with me very quickly this time, he obviously already realized what I want to do when I try to lure him out, so I might have to take much smaller steps this time.
