其實隻Golden macaw張相出現喺外國論壇嘅時候曾經就相同問題作出激烈辯論,其中有一個我覺得好特別的解答:
Yes, it is an albino. Yes, it is also a lutino. When compared to albinism in mammals, lutino parrots are albinos because it removes melanin. It's due to the fact that they have "psittacin" that also controls colors that we end up with yellow/red/orange parrots. Because there are two genes that control colors, there is no "true" albino mutation in parrots.
In other words: What is technically an albino we call a Lutino, and what we call an Albino is actually a Blue Lutino. There is no one gene that results in a completely white parrot.
The lutino macaw is a "true albino" - in yellow phase. The eyes would be no different, but in a "blue phase albino", the feathers would be white. |
